Key Selection Criteria

SC1 Capacity to undertake routine support tasks across a range of functions in one or more work areas within a school environment.

While working in Goodstart Early Learning Roxburgh Park, I worked independently to accurately support all 15 children daily, ensuring all needs were met, while providing an inclusive curriculum. Throughout this time, I also fulfilled the needs of an educational leader in this service. Multitasking and providing a holistic program to the children were at the forefront of my mind.

SC2 Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with members of the school community including students and the capacity to provide support and/or attendant care to students where necessary.

Throughout my time at Goodstart and ABC, I was able to set up and attend professional meetings with varying members of the community, including speech pathologists and occupational therapists. After these meetings, I was able to relay information to other staff members for the benefit of the child. During my time at Goodstart, I was the student manager, which included mentoring and supporting upcoming children’s services workers.

SC3 Demonstrated proficiency in the use of office systems, software, or technical equipment as relevant to the position.

I demonstrated my use of Office systems, making PowerPoint presentations for the classes while setting up a projector screen for my work with Spectrum RTO.  I also have extensive knowledge of Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

SC4 Capacity to work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education support, students, and parents.

I was able to work collaboratively with a range of people including occupational therapists, and speech therapists to provide the best level of care to all the students in my care. I also had excellent and ongoing communication with parents on the progress and development of their children. This led to improvement in communication with the children and their support network, parents, grandparents, and carers.

SC5 A commitment to professional learning and growth.

I am committed to my professional learning and growth as I have been undertaking my Bachelor of Education since 2015. I love reading, learning, and putting all of my knowledge to work. I have three of my own children ranging in age from 3 years old old to a 9 year old, this has given me invaluable knowledge to use in helping children through those difficult learning problems & understanding the curriculums.
